Grenache Varietal Focus Tasting
with Lance Cutler
Wednesday, March 19, 2013
3 pm - 5 pm
Paso Robles Event Center
One of the most popular features in WINE BUSINESS MONTHLY is the Varietal Focus series. Winemaker and contributing editor, Lance Cutler selects a varietal, picks three regions known for that varietal and invites three winemakers from each region to participate. The winemakers explain the style of wine they are trying to make and then go into great detail about what they do in the vineyard and at the winery to make that style come to life.
Until WiVi, you’ve only been able to read about Wine Business Monthly’s Varietal Focus series tastings. Now you can experience one. At WiVi 2014, you can be participate in what will become the ninth article in this popular feature. The focus is Grenache – a variety that’s quickly becoming one of the Central Coast’s most popular Rhone varietals. You’ll have an opportunity to taste and compare the differences between Grenache made in the French and Spanish styles from Sonoma, Sierra Foothills and Central Coast appellations, and discuss it with the winemaker panel.
(A separate ticket is required for this event. See registration information for details.)
Passes for the Varietal Focus Wine Tasting are only available to session attendees, and are included in the Premium Session Passes. Admission to this event includes an evaluative tasting of nine Grenache wines from the Sonoma, Sierra Foothills and Central Coast appellations, and a discussion with three Paso Robles winemakers led by Cutler.
